EBEW: Boots, Er, Booties

necklace - Forever 21 (buy similar)
Soprano dress - Marshalls
Limited jacket - Goodwill (buy similar ONE and TWO)
Dexter bootie - Payless (buy)

I hope my fellow EBEWers will forgive me for wearing booties instead of boots for this month's theme, it's back in the '70s this week in Jacksonville, so boots aren't really practical. I just got these at Payless, and I am obsessed. Prepare to see a lot of these booties!

EBEW: Monochromatic {21 of 30}

necklace - borrowed from a friend and never given back
Merona belt - Target
top - Maurices
skirt - Marshalls
Merona wedges - Target

I know I took the easy route by wearing all black for a monochromatic style challenge, but I was determined to wear items from my remix. And there was an attempt to wear a monochromatic outfit with other items in my remix, red and nude stripes were paired with red jeans, a chambray shirt was paired with blue ankle pants, and then darker chambray pants ... It was all a disaster. This was the least disaster-like outfit I could bring you.

If anyone asks I'll just tell them I'm mourning the end of my vacation.

EBEW: Colorblocking

necklace - gift (buy similar)
bracelet - JC Penney (buy similar)
George cami - Walmart (buy similar)
Mossimo dress - Target (buy)
jacket - Forever 21 (buy similar)
Mossimo flats - Target (buy)

Lessons I learned from my first outdoor photo shoot: The natural sunlight makes colors pop, but it also makes me squint. Also, photos need to be taken quickly because mosquitoes are a threat and sweating sets in almost immediately.

Neon Top, Two Ways

original posts: 1 / 2

Thanks to a red-wine-related incident, I no longer own a single piece of neon clothing. So, since I don't have a new outfit to share for this month's Everybody Everywear, I present you with my deeply missed neon v-neck, worn two ways.

Because this is such a fun, versatile piece -- paired with jeans and a beaded necklace for a music festival, or shorts and a bright belt for errands and walks with Elwood -- I will be replacing this shirt as soon as financially possible.

The shirt is currently sold out, but you can find it in other colors here.

EBEW: Nautical

necklace - Target
bracelet - World Market
watch - Fossil
belt - Forever 21
Green Envelope top - Marshalls
pencil skirt - Marshalls
Aerosoles wedges - TJ Maxx

Finally! Nautical!

I've been hoping that nautical would be chosen for Everybody Everywear for a while, since it's one of my favorite themes to turn to for style inspiration. Perhaps it's the result of dating a sailor, or living in a Navy town, or living in Florida, or living on the coast ... Maybe it's all of the above? Either way, here's some more of my nautical-inspired ensembles:

EBEW: Pastel

necklace - Private Gallery / belt - Wet Seal / bracelet - JC Penney / Lauren Conrad blazer - Kohl's
Blue Rain dress - Francesca's / Aerosoles wedges - TJ Maxx

I was almost tempted to use this month's EBEW as an excuse to go shopping. Pastels have never been a family of colors that I gravitate toward and are therefore hard to come by in my closet. But I rallied and pulled out my blush blazer and my Southwest dress that for all intents and purposes has a pastel shade of blue in it.

That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

EBEW: Green (Orange, Too!)

nails - OPI "Strawberry Margarita" (buy) / necklace - Stein Mart / bracelets - Target / watch - Fossil
belt - Target / Mossimo cardigan - Target / Calvin Klein dress - Marshalls (buy maxi version)
Merona wedges - Target (buy)

I don't have much true green in my closet, and seeing how this cardigan always comes through for me I decided to toss it over one of my new favorite dresses and top everything off with an orange belt as a nod to my Irish ancestry. My outfit for St. Patrick's Day should be interesting since I may end up heading back to Bike Week right after work that night. I think some t-shirt DIYing might be in my future ...

EBEW: Pink & Red

Cardi, Tee- JCPenney's (long time ago); Skirt, Earrings- my Grandma's; Flats- Steve Madden

I have serious outfit envy towards Kellie's outfit today, it is quite awesome.

My Valentine's Day pink and red outfit was perfect for running some errands with Clover and surprising Kellie with a Valentine present. Note to self: White shirts aren't the best when carting a rambunctious puppy from place to place.

Had James and I gone out to dinner, I would have added heels and a different shirt, and probably a different belt. But he's cooking me dinner, and we are having a nice quiet night.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Valentine's Day. For some fun ways to inject love in your life, single or not, check out IHeartThisBlog.

EBEW: Pink & Red

BCBG necklace - TJ Maxx (buy) / watch - Fossil (buy similar) / Mossimo tank - Target (buy similar)
cardigan - Maurices / pants - Gap (buy) / Merona wedges - Target (buy)

Thank you, Everybody Everywear, for encouraging me to really tackle colorblocking for the first time. Once again I have another blogger to thank for an article of clothing that I'm wearing. Kayley over at Sidewalk Ready had these pants on last week and suddenly I felt like my search for bright pants had finally come to an end. So even though I said I wanted bright pants in either pink or green, I bought red. Which brings me to three pairs of bottoms in varying shades of red, but who's counting?

Oh, and happy Valentine's Day. I'll be off filling the hole left by my absent Valentine with floral arrangements and cutesy decorations for an event tonight.

EBEW: Jess and Kellie,
Black and White

Hat- Urban Outfitters; Shirt, Skirt- Forever 21; Belt- Thrifted; Jewelry- Crafted; Watch- Fossil;
Flats- Steve Madden

It's still warm here in dear Florida, so I'm wearing another skirt. I'm also participating in the the Everybody, Everywear black and white challenge for January, so I thought I'd harness my inner elderly church-going-fancy-lady and wear a hat today. Oh, what a sad state our country was thrown into when women stopped wearing hats and gloves on a daily basis ... or so my grandma says.

Btw, I'm not wearing makeup, as I have mounds of homework and wanted to make sure I'd have time to post. And yes, that's our Christmas tree. I can't bear to throw it in the dumpster yet. But notice it's not decorated still! We're not "those people ..."

Have a super awesome Tuesday, kids! --Jess

Tarina Tarantino necklace - It's Eclectic
bracelets - JC Penny, Forever 21, Express (buy similar JCP bracelet, buy Express bracelet)
Black Poppy tank - PacSun / XOXO jacket - Ross / jeans - Forever 21
Sam & Libby Priscilla boots - DSW (buy)

I was having a hard time coming up with a black and white outfit for work, so I decided to go casual for this month's Everybody Everywear. I've had this jacket since this time last year and am finally wearing it for the first time. I should probably try working it into more outfits!
