The good news is, as I was walking into Walmart after work (sans blazer) a woman coming out said to me "love the look!"

Pinspiration 10

I go through phases where outfit inspiration is incredibly hard to come by and everything in my closet seems unappealing. What in the world did we do before Pinterest when these phases struck? While browsing my Style Inspiration pin board this collage popped out at me because I have very similar pieces to the ones that make up the core of this outfit: Earth-colored top, black blazer, denim (or denim-colored) pants, and leopard shoes. I switched out the leopard flats for black, however, since they didn't quite go with the shirt. Oh, and check out my lovely scarf that just came in the mail from Red Velvet last week, it'll probably get added to my Florida Music Festival accessories list!

EBEW: Pastel

I was almost tempted to use this month's EBEW as an excuse to go shopping. Pastels have never been a family of colors that I gravitate toward and are therefore hard to come by in my closet. But I rallied and pulled out my blush blazer and my Southwest dress that for all intents and purposes has a pastel shade of blue in it.

That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

We catered a few functions yesterday for the Board of Governors. University-wise, this is one of the most VIP events hosted on campus, as all of the presidents from all of the Florida state colleges are in attendance. On days like those, I trade in "creative" dressing for professional dressing, better to blend in and get the job done!

Last week I stopped by TJ Maxx to return a pair of shoes and saw a striped blazer hanging up. I grabbed the striped blazer, along with two others, and tried them on. I sent a photo of each blazer to Jess, and this was her least favorite. I just don't listen. What a brat.

You know how when you walk into Marshalls and there's that section as soon as you walk in of women's clothing, and there's really awesome stuff looking you right in the face? I spotted this shirt as soon as I walked in the door and knew I probably wanted it. By the time I reached the shirt, felt the lush fabric and saw that it was a well-known designer, I knew it had to be mine. Trying it on was just habitual procedure.

I'm so excited to remix this shirt, you have no idea!

I was really excited this morning that I had managed to get dressed and take outfit photos with time to spare to tidy up the apartment and upload and edit my photos. Just as I sat down to see how my pictures turned out, I managed to spill coffee down the front of my dress. I immediately reached into my purse, pulled out my Tide pen, and in the time it took me to edit my photos and begin typing this entry, coffee stains are no more. The moral of this story? Go out and buy a Tide pen -- or five -- right now!
