I pinned said outfit, went to Payless and bought some boots, and then recreated the outfit. I would like to stress that I did not buy the boots in order to create the outfit. Promise.

I've been waiting for a local news personality here in Jacksonville to get a blog for what seems like forever. Her name is Sharon, she was a contestant on American Idol, and I just adore her style. So when I found her blog earlier this week, I was excited to start filling my Pinterest board with her outfits!

I am a huge fan of Hart of Dixie, and if I had the budget, I would probably buy most of the clothes featured on the show. In the most recent episode Zoe wore an outfit with pieces similar to ones that I already had in my closet. I wasn't able to find the image, but she also wears a jacket over her outfit in the episode. I was quite happy with the overall look, this one might be good for my biker wardrobe!

Pinspiration 10

I go through phases where outfit inspiration is incredibly hard to come by and everything in my closet seems unappealing. What in the world did we do before Pinterest when these phases struck? While browsing my Style Inspiration pin board this collage popped out at me because I have very similar pieces to the ones that make up the core of this outfit: Earth-colored top, black blazer, denim (or denim-colored) pants, and leopard shoes. I switched out the leopard flats for black, however, since they didn't quite go with the shirt. Oh, and check out my lovely scarf that just came in the mail from Red Velvet last week, it'll probably get added to my Florida Music Festival accessories list!

I was browsing J. Crew's catalog the other night in search of outfit inspiration. I didn't end up finding any outfits I wanted to copy, but I did stumble upon a color palette that was already hanging in my closet. And the leopard belt was just the obvious accessory to go with this, it's got both of the colors in my outfit in one place!

I was totally satisfied with this outfit this morning, I even thought that it looked quite cute. Then I got to work and all of a sudden hated it. Has anyone else had this experience, or am I just crazy? I pinned the idea from I Heart This Blog. I think that of all the blogs I read, her style is the most similar to mine, so I often look to her for inspiration!

In the spirit of being completely forthcoming, I will tell you that I got the idea to set up my Pinspiration posts this way from I Heart This Blog. I hope she doesn't  mind. (Insert something here about copying and sincere flattery ... yada, yada.) 

I will also tell you that I am quite a fan of this outfit, it isn't often that I put something together and like it both in person and in photos. Go me! But as for the rest of the outfits I picked out for this week and already photographed? They might all be going into a folder labeled "mistakes," never to be seen again unless I do a "worst of" post at the end of the year.

It's probably been close to a year since I last wore this top. The last time I wore it one of the dishwashers announced to all of the kitchen staff that I looked pregnant. Seriously. It has taken me this long to forgive the top, but I paired it with another shirt I haven't worn in a while and presto! Cute new outfit. I may have had some help from Pinterest with this one. Again.

PS - Speaking of bookshelves, is anyone else obsessed with theirs? I think books are reflective of their owners, so I'm always arranging (and rearranging) my books to make sure my favorites and the most interesting ones are the most prominent. There's also an elephant and an owl nestled among the books. Perfection.

I was feeling horribly uninspired last night when I walked into my closet to pick out clothes for work today. Maybe my brain is already in Indiana for Thanksgiving and calculating cold-weather clothing options, or maybe I just need to go shopping. (I will look for any excuse to go shopping!)
