EBEW: Colorblocking

necklace - gift (buy similar)
bracelet - JC Penney (buy similar)
George cami - Walmart (buy similar)
Mossimo dress - Target (buy)
jacket - Forever 21 (buy similar)
Mossimo flats - Target (buy)

Lessons I learned from my first outdoor photo shoot: The natural sunlight makes colors pop, but it also makes me squint. Also, photos need to be taken quickly because mosquitoes are a threat and sweating sets in almost immediately.

Gator Bait

BCBGeneration necklace - TJ Maxx (buy)
belt - Target (buy similar)
bracelet - JC Penney
watch - Fossil (buy similar)
dress (as a shirt) - Urban Outfitters
pants - TJ Maxx
Mossimo flats - Target (buy)

Today is my annual Wear-Orange-and-Blue-to-Work-Because-I'm-Catering-Dinner-for-Seminole-Fans Day. I'm such a brat.

Last year only one person even noticed that I was wearing Gator colors, so we'll see how it goes this time!

Colorful

bracelet - Kellie Creates (buy)
watch - Fossil (buy) / bracelets - Target (buy similar) / Mossimo tank - Target
Mossimo shrug - Cardigan / pants - Target / Merona wedges - Target (buy)

I've been embracing color wholeheartedly this season, and people at work have noticed. One of the guests at our breakfast yesterday said "hey, nice Gator colors!" And then one of his tablemates corrected him before I could and told him my pants were not orange, but red. Someone from our building told me I looked colorful, and I got a few "hey, nice pants" comments throughout the day as well.

Speaking of color, I'll be back later this weekend with the colors that have been inspiring my jewelry this spring!

Burned, Exhausted and Happy

necklace - Kellie Creates (buy)
bracelets - Target (buy similar) / watch - Fossil (buy) / Mossimo tank - Target / cardigan - Maurices
pants - Old Navy / Mossimo flats - Target

Another weekend has flown by much too fast. Saturday night and yesterday were spent in Daytona, and in addition to a t-shirt with an awesome screen print on it, I've got sunburned thighs and and a second-degree burn on my calf from an exhaust pipe as souvenirs. Fortunately today is an easy work day, so I can grab some coffee and turn on the auto pilot!

Murphy's Law

BCBG necklace - TJ Maxx (buy) / bracelet - Target (buy similar) / watch - Fossil (buy similar)
Mossimo dress - Target / Mossimo sweater - Target / Merona wedges - Target (buy)

Usually my days off are Sunday and Monday, but this week I spent both days at work. A cute outfit helps with the exhaustion, along with the 75 or so red roses that I scored from the bridal show yesterday. But Matt better not think that they don't make up for the absence of a flower delivery last Tuesday. Oh, no, I still want those pink roses. At work. And a cupcake would be nice too.

I don't want to jinx anything, but considering how last week I got shocked by a 220 volt live wire, Elwood ate about half a blanket and took four days to spit it back up, the wash machine overflowed while I was trying to wash the sheets that a certain puppy peed on, and Valentine's Day was, well, anticlimactic, it won't be hard for this week to be better than the last. Let's go.

EBEW: Pink & Red

Cardi, Tee- JCPenney's (long time ago); Skirt, Earrings- my Grandma's; Flats- Steve Madden

I have serious outfit envy towards Kellie's outfit today, it is quite awesome.

My Valentine's Day pink and red outfit was perfect for running some errands with Clover and surprising Kellie with a Valentine present. Note to self: White shirts aren't the best when carting a rambunctious puppy from place to place.

Had James and I gone out to dinner, I would have added heels and a different shirt, and probably a different belt. But he's cooking me dinner, and we are having a nice quiet night.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Valentine's Day. For some fun ways to inject love in your life, single or not, check out IHeartThisBlog.

EBEW: Pink & Red

BCBG necklace - TJ Maxx (buy) / watch - Fossil (buy similar) / Mossimo tank - Target (buy similar)
cardigan - Maurices / pants - Gap (buy) / Merona wedges - Target (buy)

Thank you, Everybody Everywear, for encouraging me to really tackle colorblocking for the first time. Once again I have another blogger to thank for an article of clothing that I'm wearing. Kayley over at Sidewalk Ready had these pants on last week and suddenly I felt like my search for bright pants had finally come to an end. So even though I said I wanted bright pants in either pink or green, I bought red. Which brings me to three pairs of bottoms in varying shades of red, but who's counting?

Oh, and happy Valentine's Day. I'll be off filling the hole left by my absent Valentine with floral arrangements and cutesy decorations for an event tonight.

Preparedness

Holly necklace - Kellie Creates (buy)
watch - Fossil (buy similar) / Asian bangle - World Market (buy similar)
Sparkle & Fade dress - Urban Outfitters (sold out) / Sam & Libby Priscilla boots - DSW (buy)

I go into work in the middle of the day today, and a cold front is supposed to move in later this evening, which means that by the time I leave work it will be at least 20 degrees colder than it was when I went in. Naturally I reached for tights and boots. I suppose I should probably tote a coat (rhyming!) along with me to work, too.

I had a "WHY AREN'T YOU WORKING?!" moment with my remote this morning and managed to capture it on camera. I include it in today's photos in the hopes that you'll get a little laugh out of it. Or a sense of camaraderie. We've all been there, right?

My New Man

I have a new man. He's about eight feet tall, carved like a god, and might be a fertility statue. Wait ...

There's a trade show in our building at work tomorrow and it has a Survivor theme. One of my job perks, as you may have noticed before, is that there are often props around for me to pose with.

necklace - Kellie Creates (buy)
Asian bangle - World Market (buy similar) / watch - Fossil (buy similar)
belt - Wet Seal (buy similar) / Sparkle & Fade dress - Urban Outfitters (buy)
Aerosoles wedges - TJ Maxx (buy similar)

I bought this dress a week and a half ago when Urban was having their big sale with all clearance an additional 50% off. Matt didn't like the dress when I tried it on, but I promised him it would look much nicer when I belted it. Sure enough, when I got home and tried the dress on and showed it to him with the belt, he actually liked it. I wanted a bright piece of jewelry to wear with the dress, however, and it took me until last night to actually finish making this necklace. You can find it here on my Etsy.

I couldn't be more excited for cooler temperatures tomorrow, I finally get to start really transitioning my wardrobe into fall!
