I started my vacation with the brightest, most summer-ready outfit I could muster: A neon top and a seashell necklace. It's (really) hot here in Florida and I had a two-and-a-half hour ride ahead of me, so cool comfort was top priority!

Let's ignore the fact that I need a haircut and focus on what, I think, is a pretty awesome outfit. I've been scheming ways to work neon into a work ensemble, and to be honest, I'm still testing the limits as far as what I can get away with in regards to my work wardrobe. I actually received a couple of compliments, so I'd say this one was a success!

Neon Top, Two Ways

Thanks to a red-wine-related incident, I no longer own a single piece of neon clothing. So, since I don't have a new outfit to share for this month's Everybody Everywear, I present you with my deeply missed neon v-neck, worn two ways.

Because this is such a fun, versatile piece -- paired with jeans and a beaded necklace for a music festival, or shorts and a bright belt for errands and walks with Elwood -- I will be replacing this shirt as soon as financially possible.

Imagine this outfit with a pair of light blue denim shorts instead of white shorts, and that's what I actually ended up wearing most of the day yesterday. I took Elwood outside shortly after taking outfit photos, looked down at my shorts once I was in the sunshine, and realized that their time had come. They had a good run, it's been five years since I permanently borrowed them from Jess.

I attempted to share my day two outfit on my second day of Florida Music Festival, but I think that in the transfer over to the new Blogger format the post that I had written ahead of time pretty much disappeared, all that was left was a title and tags.

This morning I fumbled my hair straightener and caught it. By one of the 400-degree plates. With my thumb. This makes three times in the past few weeks that I've managed to suffer second-degree burns, and I had to take outfit photos this morning while clutching a couple of ice cubes wrapped in paper towels.

Oh, the things I'll do to get an outfit post done ...
