Lesson Learned

I have to admit, when I first read about Kendi's 30 for 30 Remix Challenge and she mentioned something along the lines of using the project to "explore your closet," I was skeptical. Every single item in my closets (yes, I have two. Jealous?) has been hung there and organized by type and color by yours truly. I'd like to think that I know my closet inside and out. But it's only day two and I'm wearing a skirt to work that I never even considered a part of my work wardrobe.
Touché, Kendi, touché.

So here I am, a whole two days into the challenge, and I've pulled out an item that I've actually only worn once before even though I bought it over a year ago. I saved this lovely purple tulip skirt from the clearance rack in Urban Outfitters, but the only time before today that it's ever left the house was when it was paired with yesterday's lace back tank top. I was seriously lacking in creativity not too long ago. My tank top is a Kirra top from PacSun, I own two of these shirts, the other one is also one of my 30 for 15 items, and I've got my eye on another one on the PacSun website. I will attempt to resist buying it until after the challenge is over. Layered over the tank is my trusty Maurices cardigan and a Tarina Tarantino necklace, gifted to me from It's Eclectic. The belt will look familiar if you've followed any of my previous posts, it came with a top that I found at Windsor and I've probably worn it in about half of my posts since starting this blog.

I've already got another outfit in mind that I can wear using this skirt, but I really need to track down a camel belt first. Anyone have any leads for me?
xo, Kellie

  2. Thanks, Brittney! I can't take credit for our header, except for the part where I found it on a Google image search. I wish I could find the person who did it so that they could draw up tattoos for Jess and I! And we'll be sure to check your blog out, we're always up for more inspiration! -K
