I tried to remember to take photos during my Thanksgiving vacation so that I would have lots to share!
1. Our first night in Indiana Matt and I headed to nearby Indianapolis for what is apparently known as Blackout Wednesday. The night before Thanksgiving was given this name because of it's reputation for being one of the biggest drinking nights of the year. I even got to catch up with one of my college friends who moved from Jacksonville to Indianapolis a couple of years ago!
2. Before going out on Wednesday we made a pit stop at Meijer to pick a few things up. This was my first experience with the chain, but I found an awesome pair of fleece lined moccasins that I plan to live in this fall and winter. Feet, meet lazy shoes!
3. On Friday Matt and I went to one of his old hangouts, a cute burger and ice cream joint called Ivanhoes. True to form, I ordered myself some nachos and documented them. I'd give them two-and-a-half stars out of five, it was a good attempt for a place that mainly focuses on other fare.
4. After lunch Matt and I stopped at a thrift store in Gas City, and I am proud to announce that I have officially caught the thrifting bug! I did not purchase the hat pictured above, but I did get a couple of necklaces that I will share soon!
5-6. And the highlight of our trip: Elwood. Matt's sister breeds German Shepherds and generously gave us one of the pups from a recent litter. He's a little needy right now (read: whining to no end, peeing and throwing up in the apartment ... Fellow dog owners know my pain), but I'm still in love with the little guy.
